I ran across this gem from the May 5, 1925 edition of the Pallidium Item, Richmond, Indiana. It appears that Robert Emerick traveled from Pennsylvania to Michigan to get married to a Michigan gal. He brought some whiskey with him to celebrate his nuptials. Unfortunately, it was Prohibition. Robert was arrested for possession of illegal liquor. He was brought before a judge and the judge said, "Six months in jail or bring your prospective bride and a marriage license tomorrow and get married." The paper doesn't say which one he picked but I bet he got married.
